In April, cheerful Emily Toxward, a former chief-sub-editor for the Sun Newspaper, spent her time to educate the Helensvale Writer’s Group about blogging and writing styling. As an experienced journalist and passionate blogger, Emily shared her experience in grabbing reader’s attention and driving traffic to writer’s blogs.
She explained how to serve up a healthy content mix, how to unearth good blog fodder and repurpose content, how to mix up writing style and tone and how to tackle headline writing. She also revealed how to develop, unlock, and embrace a unique writing style, including tricks of the trade in avoiding clichés.
In addition, Emily advised on how to boost writer’s chances of having their work published. She disclosed several useful links and resources and discussed how to improve readability and structure of their blogs/websites with the group.
The Helensvale Writer’s Group members were delighted to receive a substantial amount of printed information, provided by Emily Toxward. They were thankful for Emily’s determination to share, teach and demonstrate her knowledge with comprehensive examples.
Thank you very much Emily Toxward!
